Cyprus is a perfect holiday destination year round. With 300 days of sunshine Cyprus has the mildest climate of all European countries. In the spring Cyprus is covered in flowers, wild flowers in the fields and blossoms in the trees. It's the ideal season for active holidays: hiking, cycling, water sports and discovering the island. The summer is hot and people spend long days at the beach and long evenings at a terrace or having a barbeque. Most cultural events also take place in the summer.
After September it cools down and there can be some days with rain. Again this is a great time of year for a more activities. January and February are the coldest months but still much milder than in other parts in Europe. Therefore Cyprus is becoming a popular destination for long winter stays.
Although the official language is Greek, most people speak excellent English and Cypriot hospitality guarantees you a warm welcome.
